STEM Education
I have been a nerd for as long as I can remember. From my love of Star Trek, to my obsession with math and physics, STEM has always been my passion. While I ultimately decided to switch careers to focus on my advocacy work, I hope to one day return to working in STEM. Some of my experience and accolades in the field are listed below.
My Experience
-
Desmos Global Math Art Contest | May 2020
-
I was an international finalist in the inaugural Desmos Global Math Art Contest. My submission, an abstract portrait of Albert Einstein, was comprised of more than 1,000 individual hand-graphed equations. Since then I have continued to create Desmos math art, such as my piece modeled after Salvador Dalí's Persistence of Memory. More recently, I have been working on building an interactive 3-dimensional model of the universe comprised entirely of basic 2D equations.

B.S. Mathematics, Minor in Physics | May 2024
-
I graduated cum laude from RPI with a B.S. in Mathematics, a Minor in Physics, and an integrated humanities pathway in Public Health Communication. My specialization for my math major was in applied mathematics, with my senior capstone being in Methods of Partial Differential Equations of Mathematical Physics, and my physics minor was specialized in theoretical mechanics, with my senior capstone being in Particle Astrophysics & Cosmology. I was designated Dean's Honor List every academic semester from Fall 2021 to Spring 2024, and I was appointed to the President's Student Leader Advisory Council during my senior year.

Advising & Learning Assistance Center (ALAC) | Aug 2022 - Dec 2023
-
I worked as a math subject tutor in the school's Advising & Learning Assistance Center (ALAC). The subjects I tutored were: Linear Algebra, Calculus I, Calculus II, Multivariable Calculus, Advanced Calculus (Calculus of Variations), Differential Equations, Numerical Computing, Introduction to Complex Analysis, and Foundations of Analysis (Introduction to Mathematical Proofs).

Department of Physics, Applied Physics, & Astronomy | Jan 2022 - May 2022
-
I served as a Classroom Facilitator in the Department of Physics, Applied Physics, and Astronomy, working with the professor and graduate TA in facilitating labs for Physics 1. I attended weekly staff meetings to discuss and provide input on the labs and course curriculum, ensuring alignment with the course goals, and was responsible for proctoring term exams and the final exam for approximately 150 students, helping maintain a smooth and organized testing environment.

Pi Mu Epsilon (PME), Sigma Pi Sigma (SPS) | May 2022, Apr 2024
-
I was inducted into Pi Mu Epsilon (PME), the national mathematics honors society, in May 2022. I served as RPI Chapter President of PME from 2022-2023, overseeing our chapter's events and other programs, including the annual RPI Integration Bee, participation in the Putnam Competition, and hosting introductory workshops in MATLAB and LaTeX. I also coordinated with faculty in the Mathematics Department to increase student interest and participation in mathematics programs offered through the institution. In April 2024, I was inducted into Sigma Pi Sigma (SPS), the national physics and astronomy honors society.

Office of Naval Research - Naval Horizons Program | Fall 2021
-
During my freshman year, I was a recipient of the Naval Horizons Program for my research essay on Quantum Computers and the Future of Cybersecurity, where I outlined how this technology will necessitate new strategies to safeguard the transmission of sensitive data and maintain national security.
-
-
Naval Research Enterprise Internship Program (NREIP) | Fall 2023
-
I participated in a 40-hour remote research group on the Analytical Measure of Graph Complexity and Readability as an intern through the Office of Naval Research - Naval Research Enterprise Internship Program (NREIP). In this role I helped to perfect a metric for determining the level of difficulty in reading visual graphs, and ran tests on the viability of this metric.
